Ya I would have to … Ya I would have to agree, I don’t see this working. It’s painful to deal with social situations. It’s like trying to be calm while rabid dogs are attacking you.
I got over my SAD … I got over my SAD by forcing myself to go to a summer camp. when I was 17. I think it worked because i put myself in a situation where i had no choice but to talk to people. After about 2 weeks into it things started to get less awkward and as soon as it all ended life got 10 times easier. I recommend this to anybody who has SAD. It’s terrifying at first but once you really establish yourself you’ll be fine.
The only way i can … The only way i can ever have a real conversation with someone i have just met is if im drunk or have been drinking. If i am completely sober my mind goes blank when i try to speak to someone and they think im weird. I hate this disorder!!!!!

ahhh, i dont know … ahhh, i dont know what to do!! i’ve had social anxiety since 1st grade, now im in 10th, and i just started homeschool, but my SAD is still bad as ever-is that even possible? i have alot of health problems and i take 16 pills a day, so i dont know if meds will help. SAD is terrible thing to have
try to picture … try to picture people naked it will make the situation more comical and help relax you!
sounds crazy but it does help control your fear if you practice holding onto your relaxed emotional state.
The next time … The next time you’re feeling this way, tell yourlself “I don’t give a fuck”, this will help a lot. Trust me. Someone insults or reject you, just don’t give a damn, and move on. People will pick you up from there.
Yeah, you got it … Yeah, you got it all down, you can probably put it on paper, from saying hi to your neighbor or getting a girl, you got all the solution but once you act it, you mess up so bad, you look stupid.
I would like to … I would like to hear if this has worked for anyone. Of course, it’s important not to completely avoid the fearful stimulus, but people have done so into their 60s. It’s not just facing your fear that gets rid of it, but changing the way you view it (eg cognitive behavioral therapy) and learning coping skills (eg applied relaxation training) while doing so. Reportedly, meditation eventually helps, but since it often deals with awareness of the body, it may make anxiety worse for a while.
